According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158. Water plays an important role in our body, it constitutes 60 to 70% of our body weight. On average, the body of an adult human being contains 60% water. Most of the water in the human body is contained inside our cells. In fact, our billions of cells must have water to live. The total amount of water in our body is found in three main locations: within our cells (two-thirds of the water), in the space between our cells and in our blood (one-third of the water). For example, a 70-kg man is made up of about 42L of total water.
So it’s not much of a stretch to say that “the basis of vitality, Health & long life is water.” If you want to feel good and be at your optimal health level, one should drink water with essential minerals on a daily basis. But not just any type of water.
Also known as “Miracle Water” or “Healing Water”
Alkaline Ionized water possesses strong antioxidant properties that help to reduce cellular and DNA damage caused by the free radicals. Antioxidant levels are measured by its Oxidation-Reduction Potential value, or ORP, which indicates whether a given substance or compound is healthy or unhealthy.
What is ORP?
There is a continuous exchange of electrons that takes place between various substances and compounds in the air, earth, water around us and within in our bodies. This phenomenon is known as ion exchange. In an effort to reach a state of stability, substances that are lacking electrons are desperately seeking electrons wherever they can find them; these substances are referred to as oxidizing agents. On the other hand, substances which have a surplus of electrons are capable of donating their extra electrons; these substances are referred to as reducing agents, or anti-oxidizing agents. None if these interactions is visible to the human eye, nevertheless the substances and compounds that lack electrons contribute to the quantity of free radicals inside our bodies. Fried and fatty foods, refined and processed diets, sugary carbonated drinks, smoking, pollution and alcoholic drinks all contribute heavily to an increase in free radicals in our bodies. Alkaline Ionized water neutralizes these free radicals protecting us from the damage that they would otherwise cause. Free radical damage contributes to heart disease, diabetes, MS and even cancer.
Oxidation-Reduction Potential, or ORP, is a measure that indicates the degree to which a substance or compound is capable of oxidizing or reducing another substance/compound. ORP is measured in millivolts (mV) using an ORP meter.
Positive ORP (+ORP) – Unhealthy
A positive ORP reading indicates that a substance is an oxidizing agent. The higher the reading, the more oxidizing it is and therefore more unhealthy. A few common examples of Oxidation are:
• An apple turns brown in colour after it is cut; this is a result of oxidation process
• Iron rusts
Most types of water, including tap water and bottled water, are oxidizing agents as their ORP value is positive and these may be readily measured using an ORP meter.
Negative ORP (-ORP) – Healthy
A negative ORP reading indicates that a substance is a reducing agent. The lower the reading, the more anti-oxidizing and healthier it is. Alkaline ionized water is an anti-oxidizing agent, as it has a negative ORP value and it is able to donate extra electrons to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the human body.
The size of the Alkaline Ionized water molecule clusters is much smaller than the Normal water. This results in quick super-hydration.
Micro-Clustering – Water molecules naturally form clusters rather than stand-alone single molecules. Tap water which is under pressure has very large clusters of 12-16 water molecules. The electrolysis process in the Alkaline Water Ionizer breaks the electrical bonding of water molecules and restructures the water down to around 5-6 molecules per cluster. This smaller cluster size means that the water can be more easily absorbed into the cells, thereby providing superior hydration for the body and helping to dissolve and flush out acidic solid waste and toxins that have accumulated in the body. The reduced size of Alkaline Ionized Water is also known as Micro-Clustered water.

What is pH?
In chemistry, pH is a scale used to specify how acidic or alkaline a water-based solution is. Acidic solutions have lower pH, while alkaline solutions have higher pH at room temperature. Pure water is neither acidic nor alkaline and has a pH value of 7. The human body must keep its pH within a very narrow range in order to survive and function properly. The medically measured ‘normal’ range is 7.35 – 7.45 for arterial blood.
Acidic Water:
Water with a pH value below 7.2 is acidic. Typically, normal tap water, RO water and most bottled water all have a pH value below 7.2. Consuming water below a pH of 7.2 makes the human body acidic, which is the root cause of many diseases from simple discomfort caused by bloating, indigestion, and gas to serious chronic diseases such as acid reflux, high cholesterol, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammation, diabetes, hair loss and even certain type of metabolic Cancers.
Neutral Water:
Water with pH 7.2 is considered Neutral.
Alkaline Water:
Water with a pH value ranging from 7.3 to 14 is considered alkaline. Water between pH 8.0 to pH 9.5 has several health benefits as it neutralizes the excess acidity in the body.
